Silver Star is an architecture and interior design studio based in New Delhi, India.

Our practice spans from environmental retrofits of existing buildings to the complete planning and design of new buildings and interior spaces. While our work is aesthetically diverse, our projects are linked by a focus on enhancing human relationships through design.

ALTER NATIV

Alter Nativ is a prefabricated building venture founded by Silver Star. The eco friendly, modular homes have been innovatively designed and engineered, making them easy to transport, quick to build, and have minimal impact on the environment. The ‘POP-UP” homes are ideal for resorts in remote and environmentally sensitive locations.

‘AURORA’ HOME PLAN & ELEVATIONS

ANAHATA RETREAT - GOA, India

An eco yoga resort on the shores of Goa. The scope of work included comprehensive end to end planning and design services: site master plan, architectural design, retrofit of existing structures, interior design, furniture design, design of custom fittings, selection of all specifications and project management services. The brief was to deliver environmentally friendly ‘barefoot luxury’. The client had a preference for octagonal living units to break from the standard rectilinear forms. Other areas designed included : reception, back of house, spa, yoga shala, restaurant, bar, pathways, planters, utility rooms and common areas. All structures were designed as stilted, collapsable units to minimise footprint and environmental impact. Most materials were natural and sourced locally, with extensive use of reclaimed wood and bamboo. This project was the seed for our prefabricated buildings startup - Alter Nativ.

LIGHTHOUSE GOLF RESORT PENTHOUSE - VARNA, BULGARIA

Interior renovation of the penthouses at this exclusive golf resort and spa on the Black Sea. The scope of work included floor plans, elevations, sections, electrical and lighting plans, toilet and interior details and specifications, wall and floor finishes, selection of all lighting, furniture, fixtures, fittings and custom design of specific accessories.

MAMAGOTO - NEW DELHI, INDIA

The first of many restaurant projects for Azure Hospitality, one of India’s largest F&B operators. The ‘asian pop’ interior brand identity was developed in conjunction with the graphic designer in response to the ‘fun asian eating’ client brief. The resulting design template is being used across the country at all Mamagoto outlets. Complete interior architecture and planning services included floor and furniture plans, civil work drawings, lighting, electrical, HVAC, fire safety, surveillance and ventilation design, kitchen, bar, toilet and back of house design, storage and counter details and specifications, and project management services.

MAMAGOTO FLAGSHIP - MUMBAI, INDIA

The site for the Mamagoto flagship restaurant was an abandoned warehouse. Maintaining the industrial feel of the space, yet meeting health and sanitation standards was a major challenge. The scope of services remained the same for all restaurant projects delivered to the Azure Hospitality group. Specific light and toilet fittings, and a feature wall were custom designed for this unit.

SPEEDY CHOW - NEW DELHI, INDIA

Speedy Chow is a Quick Serve Restaurant concept introduced by the Azure Hospitality group. Developing on the graphic designer’s wallpaper design, floor to ceiling stripes with embedded lighting were conceived to create a dynamic feel for all the units for this brand. The scope of services remained the same for all restaurant projects delivered to the Azure Hospitality group.

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT - DEHRA DUN, INDIA

Architectural design for a proposed villa development on the foot hills of the Himalayas. Taking inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright under directive from the PROJECT PROMOTER, the use of a pitched roof, stone clad walls and exposed brick stays within the tradition of the local vernacular. This is an ongoing project and is currently in the design development stage.

FORTIS ESCORTS HEART INSTITUTE - NEW DELHI, INDIA

The interior renovation of one of the most respected heart institutes in the country required a redesign of the lobby and the 5th floor. Fortis, being the largest healthcare provider in India, has a standard interior format that had to be adhered to. The scope of work required floor, ceiling and furniture plans, interior elevations and sections, workstation, treatment rooms, counters and cubicle design and detailing.

AKTIVHEALTH CLINIC - NEW DELHI, INDIA

The flagship rehabilitation center, for renowned German orthopaedic rehabilitation specialist Dr. Gerd Muller, required interior space planning of a site with a finished shell. Furniture and equipment layouts, and selection of all floor and hard finishes, furniture, fixtures, fittings, lighting and accessories were amongst project deliverables.

The story of this independent film is set in the British colonial era in India. As the art director and production designer - the set location was required to be transformed into that period of history.
